a clean up, and allen with a check on the weekend forecast. yes, that is the issue. in case you missed, we got 8 love snow, worcester is the winner, over a foot there, and quincy over eight inches of snow, officially boston under 7 inches and that was a heavy, wet snow and that little bit of slush that will remain on the roads yesterday evening is now a solid block of ice. look at the temperatures 25 in boston, 13 in norwood, 7 in nashua, so inc. isle digits out there -- so single since, digitses and the roads were more treacherous than they were at the height of the stormiest. look out for black ice this morning. satellite and radar all clear, when the sun comes up in 15 minutes it should be a good bit of it. and cold ground is notoriously hard to warm up. we will get into the upper 30s

we will get a little bit of melting and it will start to refreeze, and the rest of the weekend looks quiet. we are tracking the next storm system. we will talk about that coming up in a few minutes. the bay state cleaning up after another round of winter weather and all of that heavy snow. check that out, serious trouble across the bay state. that is the traffic tracker, plus the tree coming down on the snow. the tree branch fell in the street in newton. in canton the snow turning deadly, the community coping with i devastating tragedy aver 6-year-old girl is killed by a falling branch. she was belaying playing in her own backyard. >> the snow caused a large tree branch to snap and come crashing down. family says that kayleigh canyon has died after a tree fell on her.

20 feet pinning her underneath while her mother and father moved the tree. she died after being in critical condition. earlier in the day, they warned residents to stay inside. >> we are asking people to stay off the roads and stay in your homes until things lighten up. be careful out there. >> reporter: the wet, heavy snow, power trees, and power lines across the region. this power line was still live as it burned through the snow. firefighters say to be aware, the hazard could be above you. >> you have to be weary when you shoveling the driveway, helping neighbors, and kids in the yard, you have to understand that the weight of the snow on the branches and the wires poses significant hazard. and because of all of that wet, heavy snow, mr. canton residents lost their power during yesterday's storm. right now they are reporting 284 customer outages, that is better than last night.

call 911 in the case of an emergency. a storm causing dangerous conditions in many towns like these, smoking power lines, throwing scary power off lines. right now ever source is reporting that more than 43,000 customers are without power this morning. the national grid has that number at more than 24,000. it was a tricky commute home for some key riders, a branch fell on the track, spinning the key line for hours. fallen trees are creating a power struggle taking down power lines and making a mess on streets and sidewalks. 7's tim caputo, has a closer look at the damage at chestnut hill. during friday's evening chute, anything but go in chestnut hill after a treetopled on to the tree tracks, the green line tracks between kenmore and highland is deserted and commuters, hopped on buses making it harder to reach the weekend. >> it was very inconvenient. >> there was a tree, and there

it was just been announced that ben carson is taking a leave off of and tell ben carson votes that for tonight -- the top candidate will face-off in a debate, and marco rubio held a predebate rally, he has gained ground in the patrols, and he is about to face questions about his short stay in the senate. jennifer egan. and hillary clinton and bernie sanders are pushing and even arguing about who is more progressive and picking up more endorsements, we are live with what the candidates are saying. >> reporter: thousands of democrats cheering for the two candidates vying to be their party's presidential nominee.

we have several days where we could get periods of on and off snow. right now 25 in boston, 17 in beverly, rather 27 in pea town, and that wishful thinking but numbers well into freezing across the board. the snow that we got yesterday is now rock solid ice. do keep that in mind and be careful as you are headed out and about this morning. winds are light, less of a windchill, wind are starting to shift around, kind of out of this west-southwest. normly a west southwesterly wind would make for a warm day, but it's notoriously tough to warm up ground that is snow-covered. we got plenty of it out there right now. there's the storm responsible for yesterday's snow, now moving well out of november a scotia. and skies clear of new ep england. and we have the weak disturbance over the great lakes, and ta that will pass north of us, fairly quiet looking weekend, but then

interesting as we head into the early part of the week. high pressure starts to move out. one storm moving up the coast. and this will be a potent storm system but it's going to give us a glance being blow, passing to the north and east, still a mix of rain and snow for the came and the islands for the islands on monday morning with that changing into snow on monday afternoon and spreading inland. that moves out a glancing blow but another one coming from the west as we head into tuesday. the combination of the two will keep a chance for snow going off and on monday into tuesday, and maybe even the early part of wednesday, and of course, the big question is how much snow are we going to get? very preliminary, but this is one of our long range commuter mottles and that is starting to come in. data indicating 3, 4, 5 inches, that is total over the course of a couple of days. by the way, we are still even with yesterday's snow well below average for this time of year. there's the seven-day forecast.

and that purple band is the perfect, and the coldest temperatures under 7 inches in boston, plymouth getting right around 8 inches, a little bit less as we get toward the outer cape and the islands where we had a little bit of rain or fair amount of rain later on before we switched over to snow. anyway, the slushy wet snow we had yesterday is now a solid block of ice when we got temperatures in the mid-20s in boston, that is one of the warmer numbers. 13 in norwood. and 17 in nashua, look out for black ice, look out for thick ice on the sidewalks this morning. otherwise, radar is quiet. satellite quiet as well. sun coming up in 20 minutes and when that sun comes up, we will get a good bit of it. mid-to upper 40s, a little bit of melting this afternoon but things refreeze depend tonight. the weekend looks quiet. we are tracking the next storm system for the early part of the workweek. more on that in a few minutes. here are the top stories, a

large tree branch fell on her friday. kayleigh kennion was playing outside, when a tree branch pinned her underneath it. she was rushed to the hospital and she died a few hours later. a 6.4 magnitude earthquake shook the city of tainan. five cities collapsed and five tremor. emergency crews and soldiers people. street. you can see the firecrews working to put the fire out. smoke pouring out the back of that home. no word on any injuries or what may have sparked this fire. that snow and ice causing widespread problems yesterday into the night. many roads were dangerous for drivers with spinouts throughout

one area was hit hard bit snow worcester which saw almost a foot. we have a closer look. >> the town had a 11 inches of snow in one day making it a rough time for drivers. >> this truck is great in the salt. i can't complain, i got the four wheel drive. i got the rear wheels. these guys spent shoveling 7 hours and were headed for a break. >> the roads are good, finally they are good. >> in darmouth vehicles collided head on after the driver of the truck lost control. the bus catches fire with only minor injuries reported. and in wear ham, crews and heavy machinery had to pull a pickup truck out of a plow with out a of a ditch. one car loses control and tow trucks were a common sight. meanwhile on 95 south a fleet of plows were out to stay ahead of the storm. back in worcester things are clearing up, even keeping cab drivers happy.

florida by an 8-year-old boy. the young boy came into the store wearing a motorcycle helmet and a sweater covering his mouth. the clerk said the boy walked up to the counter, pulled out a knife and demanded money. the clerk managed to take the gun away from that 8-year-old boy are, and another employee stopped the boy from escaping. the cashier give me money. all of a sudden i'm so shocked, i'm not sure if it's a real gun or a fake gun. my priority is to take it away from him. i turned his wrist affidavit at that point my other co-worker grabbed him. officers say the incident is still under investigation, but so far no charges have been filed. also this morning, it's new on a broken iphone, if you own an iphone, you may be catching a break. mass dot reports that apple will soon pay for cracked iphone screens. it's an up grade for the current trade in program. who gives customers who trade in

still cleaning up after yesterday's storm and already talking about the next one. that's the problem, it's not just one, it's two or three storms that may head our way over the course of the couple of days over the early part of next week. that makes it complicated the other complicated factor is that the tract of each storm is uncertain. yesterday's storm track changed dramatically 24 hours out. it means stay tuned. right now other than a direct hit by one of those storms, we will get a glancing blow by all of them. we will get 12 feet of snow, we will get on and off periods of snow where each round we will get an inch or two and over the course of several days it might
